The Red Camaro – My first new car. 3.4 liter V6 (160hp) with 5-speed Borg-Warner T-5 transmission in burgundy metallic with black cloth interior and no options. Acquired with 17 miles in September 1993 in Vienna VA for about $15 grand. It was a screaming deal. Being the first year of a new design, this car was non-stop problems. I worked next to the dealer where I bought it and routinely dropped it off for them to fix some new problem, then walked next door to work. Wrecked in October 1993 from tires that were too skinny (215/60R16 Goodyears) and understeered the right side into the guardrail of a one-lane bridge. Tires upgraded to BFG Comp/TA ZR 245/50ZR-16 and the handling improved dramatically, but I was ready for more power. Traded in July 1994 with 13,000 miles.
