Lillevennen – Silver Fiero GT with a 3.4 liter V6 (160hp) and a 5-speed Getrag 282 manual transmission, in silver with black accents and two-tone gray leather interior. New 18″ wheels & tires added November 2007, repainted November 2008. This is my trustworthy go-anywhere, pull-anything, parts-getting, errand-running and commuting car.
The 2.8 V6 engine was replaced when the clutch failed at 107,000 miles with a 1995 L32 Camaro 3.4 V6. It is unstoppable and unbreakable. Perfect for teaching friends how to drive a manual transmission. Originally a stand-in for Chrysalis while it was being reborn, now it is the car I drive when the others aren’t drivable. After a fortuitous visit to an RV dealer in early 2002, I installed a trailer hitch on it, purchased a Coleman Timberlake pop-up trailer in May 2002, and lived in it until June 2003, while traveling around the country.
Acquired June 2000 with 102,000 miles from a guy in Connecticut. We ran into each other again in Feb 2007 in Seattle when I discovered that we both worked for the same company and lived 10 miles apart.
I’ve been planning to install a 3.4 DOHC (LQ1) in it since 2003, but had been waiting for the old L32 to die. It finally did in the fall of 2012, and the car is currently in a state of partial disassembly while it awaits its fate.
