It won’t work.

The connector is destroyed beyond repair, and cannot be purchased separately. I have to replace the entire slave cylinder and accumulator assembly. RockAuto to the rescue – it’s on the way and will be here in a couple days.

In the meantime, I’ve torn apart the top end of the engine to verify the timing. Turns out I used the wrong marker to identify TDC, and the timing is over 90 degrees off. All four camshafts have to be retimed from scratch. That’s the bad news. The good news is, there’s nothing else preventing this car from running at this point.
