So my new clutch hydraulics arrived from RockAuto today, and I got them installed with no problem. The bleeding procedure was the strangest of any I’ve ever done, but it was actually very easy. Total one-man job, unlike normal clutch bleeds! Rather than alternately pumping the clutch and opening a bleeder screw on the slave cylinder, the entire assembly was shipped pre-filled with fluid, and once connected, it only needed the slave cylinder to be compressed a few times to pump the air back out through the master cylinder, rather than the normal way of pumping the master cylinder to push the air out through the slave. No bleeder screws, no spraying fluid everywhere, just a simple way for one person to get all the air out of the system. So the clutch and transmission are all ready to go once the engine’s running.
For that, I got the 60DegreeV6.com timing tool and I’m following this 38-step procedure. Once I’ve retimed the cams it should fire right up and this project will be done.
